If you are hoping to get married in France, and particularly in the Charente or surrounding areas, A La Carte can help you prepare all the legal paperwork and documentation required for the civil wedding and can also be present in the town hall on the day of the wedding to verbally translate the wedding ceremony!
Unfortunately, the French red tape continues to exist even for the most exciting event of your life and there is no way of getting round it! So if you’d like help in getting prepared for the paperwork side of things so that you can just concentrate on organising the actual event, then take a look at our packages :
HAND-HELD LEGALITIES PACKAGE
This service includes :
- Summarising in English, in writing, the formalities required to get married in France - providing you with a step-by-step guide of what is required when, and from whom
- Assisting you with obtaining the necessary paperwork required for the French town hall (official documents, translations, certificates etc) – all costs* for certificates and translations included (*at around € 150 including postage)
- Liaising with your local town hall to obtain the draft wedding ceremony
- Preparing a written translation of the wedding ceremony in advance for you and your future spouse to read through before the day
- Accompanying you to the town hall on the day of the wedding to translate verbally for you and your guests
The fee for this fully inclusive service is : 400 Euros + VAT*
- TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETING ONLY
This service includes :

Preparing a written translation of the wedding ceremony in advance for you and your future spouse to read through before the day
- Accompanying you to the town hall on the day of the wedding to translate verbally for you and your guests
- *The fee for this service is : 200 Euros + VAT*
NB : As all A La Carte Services can be made to measure, individual quotes may be prepared if you require translation of speeches into French or English or additional assistance with the town hall, etc.
*Please note that the above costs include travelling time and expenses to weddings within a 50km radius of our office (Chasseneuil s/Bonnieure). We would need to decide whether we could attend any weddings at a greater distance and discuss fees in this respect.
WEDDING RECEPTIONS
A La Carte does not organise wedding receptions but can recommend you to Tamsin Allsebrook of small weddings in France who can help you organise a small, private function in her lovely country estate.
