General Programme
The meeting point is the answer to the first clue, sent out to all participants in advance, on receipt of their entry fee, together with the regulations and obligatory safety information. Each team chooses a team name.
The quiz sheets are then handed out to each team on the day, together with a map highlighting all the location points – therefore you do have the answers to the location clues at that point and the rest of the quiz answers are found at each location and are mainly observation clues. Oh, and there are some general knowledge questions to keep you busy between locations too!
There is no fixed circuit and the teams just need to gather as many points as possible in the timescale allowed, as well as pick up a few objects and other bonus points along the way!
The team with the most points wins.
Below are a few of the clues and photos from the first event, to give you a “glimpse” of the kind of challenge it is, as well as some comments from those who joined in the first event.

COMMENTS FROM THE FIRST TREASURE HUNT CHALLENGE – 31st MAY 2009 :
Fleur de Lys (winners!) : “Fantastically well organised – thank you. Tricky clues – only had a few divorces! Would love to do it again – only found distances and time constraints made it difficult to spend time needed at each location.”
Touterrain (2nd place) : “Excellent day, really enjoyed it and the kiddy’s treasure hunt was brilliant – even though my friend Hollie told me where all the clues were hidden! I hope there’s another treasure hunt soon!”
Wilkinson Pell (3rd place) : “Really enjoyed today – difficult to take time away from a busy business but so glad we did! Lovely to see so many different places, will return to many of them. Long day for a Sunday but would love to do another – thank you for all your hard work, fantastically organised! Very well thought out, well done Debbie.”
Little Egyptians : “Excellent day – will sleep well tonight!! Superb places to visit – thank you sooo much, a day out is better than working!”
Twirlies : “Brilliantly organised, Debbie – found it great fun and a pleasant drive through beautiful locations. It was good to meet new people too ... à la prochaine fois!”
Harlequins : “Brilliant day, all the kids and adults enjoyed it – great places were visited (more clues at the bottom of pint glasses)!!! Well done Debbie”
The Funky Monkeys : “Thanks sooo much. Adults and kids enjoyed it – great to see new places, clues very good. The obvious work that went into this was very much appreciated. Thanks and look forward to the next one!”
HOW TO PARTICIPATE :
If you’d like to take part in the next event, click TREASURE HUNT CHALLENGE and leave me your name, your contact email address and likely dates across April/May/June when you would be in France and I’ll come back to you as soon as I’ve fixed the next date and course. There’s no obligation but if you enjoy driving around beautiful countryside, are up for a challenge and would like to meet up with others from all over the region, this is just the thing for you!
The cost of the Treasure Hunt Challenge is usually in the region of 20 Euros per vehicle, not including any food. However, there is usually a picnic stop during the day – for people to meet up and for me to give the kids a well-earned surprise!
I hope to hear from you soon!
